The most recent crisis India has seen or going through is the choking Air. Respiratory diseases have always been a serious issue and with this increasing pollution, the problems have multiplied. Diseases like COPD caused 8 lakh deaths and 1 lakh people died of Asthma in 2015. It is seen that leading cause of COPD is smoking and air pollution. Lung cancer solely took around 9, 30,000 lives in 2010 only and 50% of all cancer deaths in men is because of either oral cavity cancer or lung cancer. Coming back to air pollution, recently Indian Medical Association had declared the situation as “public health emergency”. Respiratory diseases cases have gone up to 30% since 2010 and decline in air quality is chronic from acute now. Out of 20 most polluted country, India only has 13 of those. Cases of acute respiratory infection (AIR) were approximately 3.5milllion.
